Time to Get Comfortable with Marketing Your Book--FREE!

I'll be presenting at PromoDay again. I presented at the first one a few years ago and it feels like home to be back.   It's May 31 and I'll be helping you write a killer query letter to agents and publishers--one that won't tick them off by including booboos you could never have imagined!
Jo LInsdell is the founder of PromoDay and her is her personal invitation to you to join us at no cost is below. Just go to www.PromoDay.info and register.

I’d like to personally welcome each of you to Promo Day and give you an idea of what you can expect and what I hope to achieve with the event.
  • A lot of people shy away from the marketing aspect because they don't know what to do or feel that it takes them out of their comfort zone. Promo Day is for ALL levels. Beginners and seasoned pro's can pick up tips and strategies that they can put into place right away. Sharing is encouraged so once you've tried out one of the tips, share the link to it so others can check it out. Having a support network that can give you instant feedback might be all you need to boost your confidence and kick start your marketing campaign.
  • Promoting is not only allowed, it's encouraged! There are plenty of opportunities to promote during the event and you are welcome to participant in as few or as many as you like. Feel free to tell us about you projects in the Promo section here on the forums and/or join in the social chats, interviews, panel discussions, etc... through out the day. (These will be announced in the Opportunities thread so check back regularly).
  • Make connections. Reaching out to people you don't know, even if they are in the same boat, isn't always easy. Here at Promo Day networking is simple. There are spaces where you can post your social media links here in the forums. As everyone posting there is part of the Promo Day event reaching out is easy. Send them a tweet saying "Saw you at the #PD14 event. What presentation did you like best?" This is just an example but it tells them where you know them from and starts a conversation with them. As you are both at Promo Day you have common ground to get you started [wink]
  • This year there are also live pitch sessions with publishers. No waiting for a reply to your query. If they like your pitch they'll ask to see the manuscript. If it's not right for them, you can move on to pitch else where.
  • After every event I get messages from attendees telling me that they made a connection during the event that got them a book deal, a new assignment, a new client, or a handful of hosts to help them promote their books. This is a big part of Promo Day. It opens you up to new ventures and opportunities. (Should you have a success story from the event, please let me know. I love to hear about how the event is helping people).
Promo Day has come a long way since it started in the chatroom on my author website back in 2007. I'm very proud of where it is today and excited about where it's headed.
I hope each of you will come and bring your experience and enthusiasm to our gathering. I'd also like to give a special shout out to our wonderful presenters who are offering their expertise during the event, to the publishers involved in the event, and to the PD14 sponsors who make it possible to offer this event for free.

I hope you enjoy the event
